Hello, I'm Daniel. I've been a fan of Jamie Oliver's for a while now and was excited when he started up his first restaurant. I went to it within the first week of it being opened and was very happy indeed.
They serve up all of his own recipes and this is why I've set up this page to share my experience with you.
In
2002, Jamie set up the fifteen foundation which allows
15 young offenders the opportunity to train in the
restaurant business. This also inspired him to open a
restaurant of the same name and fifteen was born. Jamie
borrowed the money against his own house to set up the
restaurant and thankfully, it was a success. Jamie now
has others under this brand name in Melbourne, Cornwall
and Amsterdam all of which are a great success. The
concept behind fifteen is more than simply a restaurant
and Jamie wanted to combine his two goals.
Fifteen is more than simply a top class restaurant it is also offering a product with a purpose and the diners understand the purpose of this amazing restaurant. Every single young person who works for Jamie in fifteen has had their own personal battles to fight to get where they are today. Jamie gave them a second chance and for a vast majority of them they shine and do well. Although there are now 3 other franchises of this restaurant Jamie wants to continue opening the brand. He fully understands that there is a need for a project like this in many different areas of the world.
Jamie's other passion is Italian food and with his knowledge and love he opened his other restaurant Jamie's Italian. Jamie wanted to open a series of neighborhood restaurants that average people could visit and get amazing Italian food. The first one of these opened in 2006 in Oxford and now Jamie has eight other restaurants of the same name all over the country. The concept behind these fantastic Italian restaurants is to offer people authentic rustic food. Jamie likes to use recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation and have love in them.
When you eat at one of Jamie's Italian restaurants you appreciate the effort and time that has gone into every dish. They use the freshest and best Italian produce to ensure that every diner has the best they possibly can. As well as the amazing food the atmosphere is unique as well, you feel as if you are sitting in the kitchen of an Italian family. It is very relaxed and friendly making the whole experience one that you should not miss. Jamie has travelled Italy for many of his shows and he continues to return with new recipes and ideas for the restaurant.
Another of Jamie's projects is Barbecoa which he owns with one of his friends who he met in New York. They spent a great deal of time talking about the art of smoking and barbequing foods and meats. This led to the concept of Barbecoa being born and the food being simple traditional food. They wanted to have a restaurant that influenced both fire and food and have taken recipes from around the world. The kitchen in this restaurant is breath taking and has some of the best equipment in the UK.
The grills and smokers allow the chefs to serve food from all over the world in the authentic way it should be cooked. They have Tandori ovens, Japanese grills and Texan smokers all of which make this kitchen amazing. There is an actual state of the art butcher's shop attached to the restaurant. This enables them to select only the best cuts to serve in the restaurant for the guests. They can therefore make use of all of the animals rather than selected cuts from them. Every piece of meat has been specially sourced from British farmers.
As well as the restaurants, which are a great success for Jamie, he also owns a catering company that can cater for any event. He has continued to be an amazing TV personality and his books and shows are popular all over the world. Jamie continues to campaign for healthier food and does some great work for charities and in schools. Everything he touches is a great success and his restaurants are a credit to him.
